I will be joined on the wonderful NJW stage by pianist Joe Davidian, bassist Craig Nelson, drummer Bob Mater, tenor saxophonist Don Aliquo, and backing vocalist Maureen Murphy. I'll be singing well-crafted songs, from various genres, that have been given an intimate modern jazz treatment. Some of the writers include Leonard Cohen, Sting, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Gershwin, and Charles Trenet. Originals, too! Tickets on sale at 615-242-JAZZ starting Monday, August 8th. I sing soprano with a swingin' vocal group called Third Coast Vocals, and we're performing at this year's Fall Fundraiser for the Nashville Jazz Workshop. The group consists of me (soprano), Sandra Dudley (alto), Jeff Hall (tenor/director/arranger) and Mark Stephens (baritone). Backing us will be some of Nashville's (the world's) finest jazz instrumentalists: Lori Mechem (piano), Roger Spencer (bass), Marcus Finnie (drums) and special guest Beegie Adair (piano).
