I have directed a very special women's a cappella choir called The Nashville Belles since 2008.
The brainchild of founding member, Noelle Warner, The Belles (as I affectionately call them) consists of about 16 wonderful women, ages 30s-80s, of various occupations, who want to sing! We actually began as The Holiday Belles and sang primarily Christmas music our first year, but as much as we love Christmas music, we felt the need to expand our repertoire and sing year-round.
The Nashville Belles perform The Star-Spangled Banner at a Nashville Sounds game, 2009.
We sing at fundraisers, retirement facilities, festivals, churches, libraries, sporting events (The Star-Spangled Banner) and house concerts. Our repertoire consists of SSA/SSAA a cappella arrangements of pop songs, madrigals, traditional music (some sacred, some secular), a few Broadway hits, jazz standards, and a healthy dose of Christmas awesomeness.
The Nashville Belles join the Swedish-American Families of Nashville at the First Annual Sankta Lucia Celebration on December 13, 2013, at First Lutheran Church in downtown Nashville. TN.
The group is open to new members (preferably those who can begin at the beginning of the year and stay until the end of that year, and beyond), and there is no audition process. A desire to sing is the only prerequisite, but some sight reading ability and choral experience is very helpful.

We rehearse at a member's home in Green Hills the first 3 Sundays of each month (except July). There is a $25 monthly dues to be a member of the group, which goes toward the purchase and/or copying of music, rehearsal time, booking and directing.
